Olhar no espelho: o que os gestores escolares pensam sobre si

Abstract

This study reflects on the discourses of school managers in the political, administrative and teaching contexts of a municipal school system. The school managers assume commissioned positions that are directly appointed by the local government, determined by a political relationship. This work is referenced in Clarice Lispector s prose and poetry through the concept of instante-já, the concepts of governmentality, power relations and power-knowledge of the philosopher Michel Foucault, and through the philosophical contribution of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. The study is part of the line of research Public Policy for Basic and Higher Education. The contextualization of the research sought to reflect the multiplicity of speech-images of school managers and is configured as a qualitative study through discourse analysis. The study population and sample comprises seventeen managers of elementary schools in the municipal public system. A semi-structured interview was used as a tool for the data collection. The reflections presented throughout the text support new reflections and actions on school management within schools and in the municipal government of Balneário Camboriú. It is emphasized that the results are not seen as an end in them, but represent an alternative reflection on school management
